Dettori Set for Return

Frankie Dettori is expected to make a return to riding next week after over three months out of action through injury.

The Italian broke his ankle on board Eland Ally, which ruled him out of the winning ride on Treve in Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe.

Following a scan on Monday, Dettori has been declared fit after his results came back all clear.

The number one jockey for Joaan Al Thani could have a big 2014 for his new employers. The impressive Arc winner is expected to feature at Royal Ascot in June.

He last rode the filly in the Group One Prix Vermeille at Longchamp, one of the trials for the premier middle distance contest in Europe. She justified the 11/10 favourite's tag in the racing live betting as she prevailed by just under two lengths.

He will team up with other stars for the sheikh, some of which will be trained by Richard Hannon, including Olympic Glory.

Dettori rode the colt for the first time in the Prix Du Haras De Fresnay-Le-Buffard - Jacques Le Marois back in August. They were denied success by a short-head as the French mare, Moonlight Cloud, edged them out at the line.

Hannon's mount did finish ahead of some of the best miles in Europe though, including Intello, Dawn Approach, and Declaration of War.

In the 2014 British Flat Jockeys Championship racing betting, Dettori will be a big price behind the likes of Richard Hughes and Ryan More. He was crowned Champion Jockey in 1994, 1995, and more recently in 2004.

Since his departure from his role with Godolphin, the former Derby winner has been picking up some rides for a number of flat trainers on a freelance basis, including Jeremy Noseda and Aidan O'Brien.
