Wenger Hits Back at Criticism
Arsene Wenger has challenged criticism following another season so far without trophies for the Gunners.
After their disappointing 2-0 FA Cup defeat at Sunderland on Saturday pushed Arsenal out of the Cup at the fifth round there has been much speculation about Wenger’s future at the club and possible replacement. On top of this, the club’s UEFA Champions League fate was almost inevitably sealed last week with their unfortunate 4-0 deficit against AC Milan. At the moment it looks likely that Arsenal may finish the season without a trophy yet again this year.
Wenger denies there is a crisis at the club and has hit back that critics are being too hard on the team. He points out that much of the criticism comes from those with little or no experience of managing a team and stresses that Arsenal have maintained their place in the top four consistently for the past fifteen years.
He remains positive in the face of this steep challenge and insists his focus remains on preparation for the crucial Tottenham game next weekend
